The Foothills Minor Hockey Association (FMHA) would like to encourage you to become and on-ice official. It is fast paced, exciting and a great way to make some extra money. We are currently looking for Hockey Officials for the 2018/2019 season.
If you have interest in the game of hockey and want to learn how to be a hockey on-ice official or have past experience officiating, please contact the Foothills Referee Liaison for more information.
Officials must be 13 years of age by Dec 31, 2018.
We can always use level 2 and adult referees, so if you're interested please let us know.
The High River clinic (Sept.30th) is a beginner youth / beginner adult clinic which is for 1st and 2nd year officials. When you open up the info tab it will have information regarding that particular clinic, see below for information for the High River clinic.
**High River clinic is designed for individuals who meet the following criteria: Officiating Experience: 0-2 years Who: Level 1 Officials (Ages 13, 14, 15) / Level 2 Officials (Ages 16, 17, 18) or any adults with no or limited experience. Divisions Officiated: Novice, Atom, Peewee Please bring a pen/pencil and paper for taking any notes. Please bring a smart phone, IPad, or a tablet as we will be offering the exam online. There will be an ice session included with this clinic, you will need skates (no goalie skates), a helmet with a half visor or cage, and a whistle. The ice will be held at Bob Snodgrass Rec Centre starting at (TBD) . Please ensure transportation to and from the arena. The ice session will last approximately one hour.**
If you will be age 16 on or before December 31, 2018 then you register as a Level 2 for this year. Anyone younger would register as a Level 1.
You must be at least 13 years of age on or before December 31, 2018 to be eligible to referee this year.
The Okotoks Referee Association is looking after FMHA officials during 2018/2019 season.
